Impulse bought this literally just last week from another seller and tried it out on the 9th at a local outdoor site. The M249 only arrived on the 7th so I haven't had time to really get to know it well or make adjustments. I brought my Tokyo Marui AA-12 I'd yet to try out to the game to decide which would be the better support gun for me and to sell the other. As you can tell - the AA-12 won. I literally used the M249 for one round and while its probably a more practical gun than the other, the AA-12 is just an absolute meme cannon. Not to mention its a couple of pounds lighter with a loaded drum mag and easier to sling around.


Its in overall good condition (I'd say B-) and functionally sound with all the quirks of a big clunky airsoft LMG. Its a bit heavy but no unwieldly. There's a very small amount of stock wobble but personally I didn't notice it once the drum mag was fully loaded, adding the extra weight and I was shouldering it on the move without noticing it either. There's a bit of dust build up in the crevices around the rear sight and stock. Nothing major in my opinion but if you're one of those weirdos who foams at the mouth at the sight of dust then you've been warned. The mock charging handle/bolt is a bit sticky but the only time its needed is to reclose the top cover (pull it back and it'll probably stick there if you're careful, close top cover shut, then just nudge it till it snaps back forward or guide it yourself)

The front sight is slightly lopsided about 10 degrees towards the right with the way its currently sat but I didn't have time to be readjusting it before taking it to the match on Sunday and I have a personal policy of not making adjustments like that outside of the house since I've got a nasty habit of losing screws/nuts/bolts/pegs the moment I take them out.


When it arrived to me the mag box feeding tube was jammed and upon taking the magazine apart I also found some of the plastic gears had really been worn down to the point where they were barely catching on one another. Thankfully the planets aligned and my buddy had an old A&K box mag of his own so which he sold me for a fair price. Its also worth pointing out that in the battery compartment in the mag it says "AA 1.5v" and while I don't think I've ever seen anything that runs on AAs to be that picky about voltage - this thing is. So I had to run out and buy some rechargeable Duracell Ultra's with 1.5v because my almost identical Duracell 1.2v's wouldn't even get it to budge.

Feeds well but A&K m249 drum mags have a questionable rep at best so don't expect to put thousands of rounds through it without a problem or two again. Takes M4 mags as a handy backup though - fed totally fine from my CYMA and Specna Arms midcaps in garden testing and my G&G highcap also shot and fed totally fine but because of the angle I had to start tilting the gun left ways with the magazine pointing down towards the ground in order to wind up the highcap. And I've heard Classic Army M249 mags are a compatible step up from A&K's if you find yourself wanting another box mag down the line.

No original box but I will send it in an old cheap and basic gun case bubble wrap it, and then black shrink wrap the case to make it safe and secure for transit.
